Our Wedding

A Note from the Groom

Alex and I met the old-fashioned way — on the dating apps. Specifically, Bumble, where the girls message first. Fitting for Alex, since she’s never been one to shy away from taking the lead. She opened with a “cheese-y” joke (I had something about loving cheese in my profile). Unfortunately for her, I already knew the punchline. What can I say? I’m a joke man. After a few messages back and forth, we decided on a first date at a local bar, Little Rebel. For the record, Alex was 45 minutes late… which may surprise anyone who knows her, because punctuality is kind of her thing. To this day, she insists I was actually 45 minutes early. At time of writing, no formal agreement on the facts has been reached. Regardless, we hit it off immediately. You know a date’s going well when you’re not talking about work and time just… slows down. We connected over our Midwest roots, our love for adventure, and of course, food. After just a few dates, I knew she was the one. And the rest is history. We're so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our love story with you all!

While we love all of your little ones, this will be an adults only event.

What should I wear?

Welcome Party: Festive Night OutThink an evening in the city, refined but festive. Women could wear cocktail dresses, elevated separates, or a jumpsuit. Men should opt for a button-down with tailored slacks or dark denim. No jacket required.

Wedding: Formal (But Have Some Fun With It)This is a formal celebration with personality. Women are invited to wear long, tea-length, or cocktail-length dresses, with room to play with color, texture, and pattern. Men should be in suits.

Farewell Brunch: Relaxed, Not RumpledComfortable, casual attire is welcome, no PJs, please.

Will there be transportation?

Because our wedding and room blocks are all conveniently located in downtown Chicago, getting around will be easy so we won't be providing transportation. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are all readily available, and some locations are even walkable. We hope you’ll enjoy the opportunity to explore the city as you move between events!

Can I bring a plus one?

As much as we’d love to include everyone, we’re only able to accommodate guests named on the invitation. Thank you for understanding. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We are planning an unplugged ceremony. We want you to be right there in the moment with us! We’ve hired a team to capture the day, so you can relax and enjoy knowing everything will be beautifully documented.
