Alex and I met the old-fashioned way — on the dating apps. Specifically, Bumble, where the girls message first. Fitting for Alex, since she’s never been one to shy away from taking the lead. She opened with a “cheese-y” joke (I had something about loving cheese in my profile). Unfortunately for her, I already knew the punchline. What can I say? I’m a joke man.
After a few messages back and forth, we decided on a first date at a local bar, Little Rebel. For the record, Alex was 45 minutes late… which may surprise anyone who knows her, because punctuality is kind of her thing. To this day, she insists I was actually 45 minutes early. At time of writing, no formal agreement on the facts has been reached. Regardless, we hit it off immediately. You know a date’s going well when you’re not talking about work and time just… slows down. We connected over our Midwest roots, our love for adventure, and of course, food.
After just a few dates, I knew she was the one. And the rest is history. We're so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our love story with you all!
